**Leak Detection Technician**

**Position Overview**:
As one of our Leak Detection Technicians, you will be tasked with inspecting natural gas systems throughout Alberta & Saskatchewan using specialized equipment to locate potential leaks and other discrepancies. This position also includes collecting and entering leaks along with other discrepancy data onto GIS databases for review and compilation. The role’s primary duties include:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Actively participate in and promote West Country Energy Services’ safety culture.
- Access customer properties to perform gas-line inspections.
- Log discrepancy data on GIS Map.
- Attach photos and other media files to discrepancy findings.
- Complete and verify areas assigned by the team supervisor.
- Communicate with team supervisors on progress and other needs.

**Education & Experience**:

- Familiarity with GIS tools and best practices is beneficial, but not required for this role as all training is provided in-house.

**Licenses/Certifications**:

- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- First Aid, CPR, H2S Alive, TDG, and WHMIS certifications are assets.
- First Aid w/ CPR and H2S training may be provided by WCES during the season.

**Travel**:

- These positions are expected to be on the road for most of the contract based on the location of the work.

**Physical and Work Environment Requirements**:

- The position requires the ability to be outside and mobile for extended periods of time. Leak Detection Technicians typically walk 10 - 15 km a day during the height of the season.

**Employment Duration**:
This is a seasonal position with student options for a shortened contract.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay
- Overtime pay

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Willingness to travel:

- 100% (preferred)

Work Location: On the road
