AltaGas - Associate, Office of the Chief of Staff
Join AltaGas in a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, operations, and executive leadership. As a Associate supporting the Office of the Chief of Staff, you’ll play a critical role in driving business performance, shaping strategic initiatives, and delivering executive-level insights across our midstream and utility gas operations.
This is a unique opportunity for a highly analytical and proactive professional to work closely with senior leadership, influence decision-making, and contribute to transformational projects that shape the future of energy.
What You’ll Do- Analyze business performance, regulatory impacts, and market trends to support strategic decision-making- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and models to track operational, financial, and strategic metrics- Prepare executive materials including scenario planning, risk assessments, and investment evaluations- Coordinate strategic initiatives (e.g., infrastructure, sustainability, digital transformation)- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, document outcomes, and ensure follow-through- Monitor timelines and deliverables, escalating risks or delays to maintain alignment with executive priorities- Develop presentations, memos, and briefing documents for leadership and external stakeholders- Translate complex information into executive-level summaries and talking points- Manage cross-departmental communications to ensure consistent messaging from the VP’s office- Identify and implement workflow enhancements using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies- Support operational efficiency and compliance with internal policies and external regulations- Promote a culture of accountability and safety across business units- Act as liaison between the Chief of Staff and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate information flow- Coordinate engagement with external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, industry partners, community organizations)- Support planning and execution of leadership forums, town halls, and strategic offsites
What You Bring- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)- 3+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or analytics—ideally within energy, utilities, or infrastructure- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization- Quick thinker with the ability to deliver timely, relevant insights across diverse and unfamiliar topics- Skilled at distilling complex issues into clear, concise messaging for senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications- Solid understanding of corporate finance principles and capital markets- Familiarity with midstream operations, regulatory frameworks, and industry dynamics- Experience supporting executive leadership or Chief of Staff functions- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean Six Sigma)
