Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience working in this or a related field (i.e., conservation authority or other agency);
- Post-secondary education in ecology, environmental science, or related field;
- Experience in the identification of Ontario flora and fauna (trees, shrubs, wildflowers, grasses, birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and/or insects);
- Experience in identifying and assessing terrestrial ecological impacts from development proposals;
- Experience conducting Bat Acoustic Surveys;
- Knowledge of Ontario environmental legislature including the _Endangered Species Act;_
- MTO and infrastructure experience is an asset;
- Certification in Ecological Land Classification an asset;
- Certification in the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System an asset;
- Arborist certification (or potential to obtain such) an asset;
- GIS experience; and
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to travel to and from various work
- Parson’s Ecological Services Group works both in support of other internal groups (primarily _transportation/highways_ and stormwater management) and also as an independent unit completing ecological assessments and monitoring duties directly for various clients._
