GEI is seeking two full-time Restoration Ecologists to join our ecological restoration team which includes expertise in terrestrial and aquatic ecology, species at risk, landscape architecture, climate change, Indigenous engagement, environmental engineering, hydrogeology, and fluvial geomorphology. The Restoration Ecologists would work collaboratively with the natural science and engineering team to develop, implement, and monitor ecological restoration conceptual, detailed design and construction projects for public and private sector clients. This position will involve management and production of project deliverables, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and project management duties including budget and timeline tracking.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Prepare conceptual and detailed ecological restoration plans at varying scales (from small-scale site restoration to large-scale natural heritage systems), including detailed design briefs invasive species management plans, and ecological monitoring and adaptive management plans
- Conduct contract administration for restoration plan implementation (i.e., contractor oversight, change orders, payment certificates)
- Work with other technical staff and project managers to develop natural heritage systems and nature-based solutions for slope stabilization, contaminated sites, storm water management and low impact development
- Manage ecological restoration projects including budget and timeline tracking
- Collaborate with clients, reviewing agencies and other consulting firms to achieve project objectives
- Liaise with internal practices outside of natural heritage, such as civil, surface water, geostructural and geotechnical engineering to provide innovative solutions to our clients challenges
- Value working in a cohesive team environment both virtually and in-person
- Provide staff mentorship

**Qualifications**
- Degree(s) in biology, ecology, ecological restoration, environmental science, or related discipline
- 5+ years experience in consulting or ecological restoration project management field
- Experience managing projects and clients
- Demonstrated knowledge of ecological restoration principles and practices
- Knowledge of native vegetation communities and flora
- Creative, self-directed, and motivated to gain new knowledge and skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time management skills
- Valid driver s license and vehicle access (required)
- Additional assets include post-graduate certificate in ecological restoration, community engagement experience, certified ecological restoration practitioner (CERP) and construction and contract administration experience
