**Water Meter Technician**
- Scheduled: 40+ hours per week (Hours based on scheduled appointments M-S)_
- Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia_
- Head office: Metercor Head Office, Calgary SE_
- Reports to: Lead Hand, Project Manager_
- Compensation: Metercor offers competitive wages and benefits packages based on experience. This is a term employment role expected to be 8-10 months in duration and pay based on performance (piece-work)._

Metercor supplies and installs metering products and remote reading systems for water, gas, and electric utilities across Canada. We are currently seeking Technicians who are eager to build on our reputation for excellence by setting high standards for superior service.

**The role includes the retrofitting of water meter transmitters located in meter pits (outdoor environment) and includes the following**:

- Replacement of transmitters based on assigned work and technician generated Service Orders at residential and commercial locations (Training provided)
- Digital data entry though an electronic work order on a handheld device. Accurate capture of information
- Self Management of assigned work to completion and within scheduled hours of operation
- A proven track record for punctuality and reliability
- Excellent Troubleshooting skills
- Professional demeanor

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Clearance on pre-placement medical testing will be required
- Through our training and procedures, you will be expected to retain and implement the information provided. Your attention to following and implementing the directions and instructions given to you is a priority
- Interaction with clients can happen daily, therefore a professional and pleasant attitude is a must as customer service is the key to our success and we expect nothing but your best
- Your attention to detail, planning, time management and ability to work independently and with others is important
- Must abide to the best industry practices and Metercor’s own health and safety guidance at all times
- Speak, read, write and understand English fluently
- Digital data entry through an Electronic Work Order on a handheld device
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, abstract required
- Criminal background check required
- Plumbing experience and/or knowledge would be an asset
- Experience wiring electronic components would be an asset
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Good technical skills
- Must be a team player, willing to see all tasks to successful completion

Term Employment (Piece Work)

Flexible Language Requirement:

- English not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability
