TAG Hardware designs, engineers, and manufactures products for the closet and modular furniture industry. Our 70,000 square foot brand new manufacturing plant is located in South Surrey, British Columbia. The facility also houses our head office, plastic injection molding machines, powder coating machine, assembly work stations, and a warehouse, where we develop and produce our patented products for customers globally.

**About the Role - Position Purpose/Objective**:
We’re seeking a Manager, Global Trade Compliance to lead our cross-border compliance strategy and ensure we operate within US and international trade frameworks. This role will directly influence TAG’s expansion plans, cost optimization strategies, and supplier diversification efforts, making it a critical pillar of our supply chain transformation journey.

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in high-stakes environments, enjoys working independently, and brings both precision and strategic insight to the team

**Key Responsibilities - What You’ll Own**:

- Act as TAG’s internal authority on global trade regulations (Canada, U.S., and other international jurisdictions)
- Lead HTS/ECCN classification, customs valuation, and country of origin analysis
- Advise on tariff strategy, duty drawback, and trade agreement optimization (e.g., CUSMA, CPTPP)
- Manage customs broker relationships and ensure smooth import/export processes
- Develop and enforce internal SOPs for trade compliance and regulatory changes
- Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Executive teams to inform strategic sourcing and mitigate risk
- Prepare advance rulings, re-determination requests, voluntary disclosures, and regulatory correspondence
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in trade compliance, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong grasp of Canadian and U.S. customs regulations (CBSA and CBP), with practical experience in HTS classification and valuation methodologies
- Confident working independently and advising senior leaders
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), CCS, or CES certification is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interface confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
