**Job Summary**

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Niagara Propagators. This role will be based at our Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario location. This is a role that requires the individual to work on-site.

The Lead Machine Operator will assist the Manager, Operations in the day-to-day operations of Niagara Propagators. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can handle the dynamic needs of a greenhouse environment. With that in mind, we are looking for a high-energy, hands-on, Lead Machine Operator to oversee all aspects associated with the greenhouse production lines and equipment.

**Employment Type**
- 40 hours per week. Additional time as required.
- On-site

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the oversight of a team of machine operators.
- Manage the preparation, scheduling and production of customer orders on the seeding lines, organic line, selecting, block lines and spacing machines.
- Ensure on time production of all customer orders.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to gather input for production scheduling and coordinate labour planning for the machines with the Manager, Operations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to schedule preventative maintenance and address repairs as needed.
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of machine operators.
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of direct experience working in a production leadership role.
- Experience and knowledge working with Robotics in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the greenhouse industry, an asset but not required.
- Experience with seasonal agricultural workers is considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Proven leadership abilities.
