**JOB OVERVIEW**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Provide support to a subset of CI portfolio managers, including but not limited to research & analysis, performance reporting and competitive intelligence.
- Create and update content and presentations that clearly explain the people, process and philosophy of various portfolio managers within the framework of their distinct value propositions
- Conceptualize, consolidate, and communicate to the national sales team the investment strategies being used by portfolio managers in light of current economic and capital markets conditions on a regular basis
- Act as a liaison between portfolio managers and the sales department to ensure that all pertinent information is being communicated effectively and regularly - answer questions posed by sales team on funds and portfolio managers
- Assist portfolio managers and the CI sales team in the organization of and preparation for sales and marketing events, primarily through the creation and/or updating of portfolio management presentations
- Analyze and maintain an understanding of competitor products relevant to your portfolio managers. Create competitive analysis pieces that can be used by senior management and sales & marketing that provide key positioning points.
- Assist in the research, development and launch of new funds - at times one may have to coordinate with portfolio managers, senior management, legal, marketing, communications and operations throughout the fund launch process; including provide input around category research and analysis, supporting marketing materials and positioning the idea for the sales team
- Assist product development and legal in the renewal or enhancement of existing products - annual information form (AIF), prospectus and other fund filings
- Input into the communication strategy and documentation regarding portfolio management team changes
- Input into the marketing strategy and to position funds and portfolio management teams within the industry
- Pro-actively identify opportunities to positively position CI investment strategies in such a way to increase net sales across regions and distribution channels
- Perform and interpret fund performance analysis to understand and communicate sources of out/underperformance relative to key competitors and benchmarks, including period commentaries
- Monitor, analyze and assess market developments to communicate timely updates on these developments and their potential impact on the assigned products
- Deliver training and product presentations to the national sales team

Skills and Tools Most Frequently Used:

- Use research tools such as Morningstar Direct or Bloomberg to gather pertinent fund, market and security related data
- Gather information from a variety of additional sources and departments to supplement research efforts
- Use Microsoft office programs such as excel, word, power point, teams and outlook to perform, organize, summarize, present, and distribute analysis and messaging
- Summarize and simplify large bodies of complex text, audio, and video into manageable and concise, yet powerful content pieces for the sales team
- Manage a large set of often conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Work in cooperation with numerous departments and people to meet deadlines with consistent quality work
- Prepare and deliver presentations on complex topics to internal and external clients

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING**

Experience
- Must have 2-3 years of financial services experience

Education/Training
- 3 + years of experience in the mutual fund / investment services industry
- University degree in the field of Business or Commerce
- CFA designation or working towards the designation (beneficial, not required)
- Additional industry courses and designations are beneficial but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technical knowledge and interest in investment performance measurement and attribution analysis
- Fundamental knowledge of securities analysis and portfolio management
- Strong relationship management, communication, and time management skills
- Strong team player and willingness to help internal stakeholders, Strong creative writing skills
