We are hiring a Master Data Administrator who will work remotely however may be required to join the team in Grimsby sometimes.
The Master Data Administrator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of master data across various business systems. This role involves the management and maintenance of key business data, such as customer, supplier, product, and financial information, ensuring data quality standards are adhered to. The Master Data Administrator works closely with different departments to support business processes, ensure proper data governance, and assist in the implementation of data management best practices.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of operational data
- Responsible for administration of various data setups (based on primary area of responsibility)
- Responsible for following outlined operational processes
- High level of product and business process knowledge
- Setup, maintain customer account and payment information
- Responsible for assigning PID and item numbers to new products; assign UPC and SCC codes nationally
- Set-up, maintain and update item structures and work definitions based on set regional parameters to support operations
- Maintain and update calendars to support capacity planning at the direction of the plant
- Responsible for creating Planning trade channel combinations to support forecasting requirements
- Conduct routine checks and audits of item master attributes, categories, and setup parameters to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Supports Master Data initiatives with admin support, including spreadsheet organization and updating internal documents
- Proactively contacts and follows up with internal customers and managers regarding data/setup and pricing issues
- Supports management in continuous improvement initiatives through feedback regarding current processes.

DIMENSIONS
- Responsible for operating within management parameters, effectively defending the business process and system integrity
- Responsible for understanding, accurately maintaining, and reviewing master data, production usage variances, and provincial pricing details
- Work with departments such as IT, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain to ensure data accuracy and alignment across systems
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Working as part of a team in a fast paced environment supporting multiple business units and functional areas
- Ability to process and understand large amounts of data and co-ordinate efforts around multiple priorities
- Extensive use of telephone and computer equipment and extended periods of sitting at a desk in an office environment
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
- A keen understanding of business processes and how data flows between different systems
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot errors in large data sets
- Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and collaborate with various teams for resolution
- Tactful and pleasant and able to maintain composure under stressful conditions
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Occasional evening and weekend tasks may be required to meet project deadlines or resolve critical data issues
- Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions/hazards to their reporting Manager.
- Post Secondary education required
- 2 year College Business/Administration program or equivalent experience
