Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Product Manager will bring professional product management expertise to this position while making strategic decisions regarding the product portfolio. This could include sales and marketing strategies, inventory management, supporting the sales team and achieving sales and gross margin goals.
About your future team
**The Product Manager's responsibilities include**:1. Supplier Management**:
- Manage relationships with an international supplier base
- Build strong, multi-level relationships with suppliers through regular documented visits
- Pivotal in working with our Shanghai office to source products and gather market intelligence
- Formally evaluate the performance of key suppliers
**2. Product and Market Strategy**:
- Identify and provide a reliable and competitive supply of products for targeted markets
- Responsible for continued market development and sustained profitable growth of the product portfolio
- Be the expert of your key products and markets
- Spearhead growth in terms of potential new products and target markets
**3. Sales Alignment and Management**:
- Central role in working very closely with the corporate sales force and balancing corporate objectives, customer requirements, and supplier expectations
- Manage pricing and maintain price lists
- Review contractual language to strike the right balance between managing risk and closing the deal
- Build strong connections and relationships with the Quadra sales team based on trust, credibility, and cooperation
**4. Market Presence and Communication**:
- Be present at target industry events (i.e., trade shows, conferences, etc.) to gain market knowledge and awareness
- Deliver presentations both for internal and external communication (i.e., suppliers, customers, conferences)
- Traveling
**5. Reporting and Strategic Contributions**:
- Weekly reporting and scheduling using Quadra's digital tools
- Being a key contributor to shaping group strategic objectives and achieving the mission statement
- Follow up on monthly reports by product
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Finance or Business related field
- A Master in Business Administration would be considered as a strong asset
- Experience in chemical product management or procurement, with an emphasis on overseas sourcing
- Proven experience as a sales professional
- Experience in analyzing markets, understanding of world trade, commodities and currencies
- Knowledge of the gold mineral processing industry would be an asset
- Knowledge of gold mining reagents and chemicals would be an asset
- Experience in market analysis and development of marketing plans and strategies
- Previous experience in commodities trading/banking/financial sector would be an asset
- Professional procurement accreditation and supply/purchasing training an asset
- You must be bilingual (French/English) for this role
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point; to work effectively with the Office 365 suite) as well as strong CRM skills (Salesforce experience would be an asset)
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and handle pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proven business acumen and commercial knowledge
- Proven ability to manage and influence others
- Enthusiastic about contributing to a high-performance culture and accustomed to a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (including overnight); you must have a valid driver’s license and passport
