**ACTING CURRICULUM COORDINATOR - 12 Month Contract**

PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates programs in more than 240 schools providing before and after school care. PLASP also operates 38 full-day Early Learning And Child Care Centres and six EarlyON locations for children from 0 - 6 years.

Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, the Acting Curriculum Coordinator supports pedagogy and curriculum implementation by mentoring staff and assessing programs to ensure high quality delivery. The Acting Curriculum Coordinator designs, develops, and facilitates in-person and virtual trainings and workshops for PLASP staff, focusing on required operational training and professional development initiatives.

**THE POSITION INVOLVES**
- Develops resources to support program delivery and staff training.
- Creating surveys, analyzing feedback, and using data to inform and enhance future sessions.
- Provides onsite training, mentoring and coaching to program staff to enhance program quality.
- Develops strategies and plans for staff teams that support optimum delivery of PLASP programs.
- Visits programs where there may be identified supports in order to make recommendations that provides guidance to PLASP educators and respective Area Managers to improve the quality and the delivery of the program.
- Evaluates program quality using quality improvement instruments such as the PQA, AQI and CQI.
- Collects, manages, and analyzes program quality data using internal platforms (e.g., Storypark, Quality Assessment Website) to support data-informed decisions and continuous program improvement.
- Provides support to Curriculum Manager as requested, including but not limited to, booking meetings, coordinating schedules, opening programs, etc.

**THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**
- A degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field and 3 years experience in the field(s) of child care/education;
- A positive and sensitive attitude towards children and families, PLASP Staff, and Community Partners;
- Upholds professionalism and exercises diplomacy and tact;
- Upholds confidentiality of children and families as well as fellow educators;
- Flexible and able to manage change;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to supervise and train staff and work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Demonstrated coaching, consultation, problem-solving and facilitation skills;
- Demonstrated organizational abilities and computer proficiency;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Extensive knowledge in How Does Learning Happen?, and play-based, emergent curriculum such as the HighScope Curriculum;
- Experience with program quality assessment tools such as the AQI, PQA and/or CQI;
- Advanced knowledge of CCEYA and current best practices in childcare with a strong understanding of environmental tools and how they are used to assess program quality;
- All health requirements to be met in accordance with the Ministry of Education, and PLASP Personnel Policies;
- Holds a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel and/or access to reliable transportation;
- Holds a valid Standard First Aid Certificate, with level C CPR;
