**ABOUT THE JOB**: The primary purpose of this role is to support the Accounting and Tax teams in various forms including assisting in providing timely management reporting and meeting compliance requirements. The incumbent will work closely under the direction of the Controller and the Senior Director, Taxation gaining exposure to a cross section of disciplines, including Construction, Property Management, Corporate and Investment entities.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The incumbent’s key responsibilities of the role will include:
**Financial Reporting**
- Joint responsibility for accounting and financial reporting for a group of investment companies including updating investment continuities, shareholder registers and preparing annual financial statement packages.
- Prepare management reports, including annual budgets and forecasts for consolidated companies.
- Support the audit process of the Company’s various legal entities’ annual financial
- Statements, including CAM, joint venture and consolidation statements by preparing financials and compiling audit support.
- Complete corporate bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.

**Tax**
- Support the preparation of tax returns using Tax Prep, for:

- Personal and Corporate entities;
- Trusts;
- Partnership Information returns;
- Other tax related information and returns; e.g. T5018
- Assist with CRA income tax audit requests.
- Opportunity to work on tax planning and tax research projects.
- Completion of an undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting is mandatory
- Completion of an Introduction to Taxation course is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Excel required, advanced is preferred.
- High degree of comfort working with numbers and strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A team-player with a can-do attitude
- Previous experience or knowledge of JD Edwards is an asset
