As NAIT continues to grow its student body and lead the way in hands-on learning, we are recruiting skilled and passionate individuals to help support current and future industry professionals and become part of Canada’s leading polytechnic.

The Culinary Arts program provides students with relevant, high-quality culinary training. The program will introduce students to the fundamental skills of cooking, including contemporary hot and cold presentation, pastry art and international cuisine.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a related Diploma or Journeyperson certificate or equivalent required, with an Inter-Provincial Red Seal required.
- CCC certification is considered an asset
- Minimum 5- 8 years of recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson certificate or equivalent
- Preference will be given to those that have a minimum 5 years experience in a Formal Dining setting
- Previous teaching experience is a strong asset

**Remuneration**: will be commensurate with education & experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Instructor - 5501).
- This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
