**Job Description**:
The Trauma Coordinator works closely with Medical Director, Data Analyst, and other related stakeholders. The Trauma Coordinator develops and executes plans to implement the trauma program within the hospital, and practices in a manner that reflects the Mission, Vision and Values of RVH.
**Qualifications/Skills**
- A healthcare provider experience in the multidisciplinary care team, trauma, and patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate in the development of strategic, program planning and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage change.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a hospital based clinical setting - clinical expertise and experience in trauma care required. Emergency or Critical Care experience preferred.
- Experience in the use of computers and appropriate software (Excel, Word, etc).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret complicated clinical documentation.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Excellent collaboration and team building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with short turnaround times and competing priorities.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Specialized knowledge related to process improvement/rapid cycle improvement, change management, human factors, injury prevention, patient safety, risk management, and evaluation methods, and a thorough understanding of measurement

**Accountability**:
- Accountability and reporting relationship to the Operations Director, Emergency, Critical Care & Trauma
- System-level accountability to Regional Trauma Network (RTN) to provide support to the trauma program and all RTN-related activities within RVH.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and execute strategic priorities and lead strategic planning initiatives for the implementation of the Trauma Program in partnership with the Trauma Medical Director, Operations Director, and trauma stakeholders across all program areas.
- To monitor, promote, and evaluate all trauma-related activities for the hospital including medical and nursing practices, Ontario Trauma Registry, and professional and public education.
- Supervise and provide support to the Data Analyst on an as-needed basis.
- Work with the Lead Trauma Hospital (LTH) and RTN catchment area partners to manage the integration of services and programs (from public education and injury prevention, to rehabilitation and survivorship).
- Participate in formalizing accountabilities between LTH and Level 3 Trauma Centres to enable coordination of care for injured patients.
- Lead Quality Improvement activities within the trauma program.
- Partner in injury prevention activities such as regional campaigning.
- Inform and make recommendations to quality and system improvements in patient transitions.
- Lead the development of policies/procedures relevant to the trauma and surgical services.
- Participate in RTN and working group meetings.
- Participate in system-level Committees and Working Groups managed by CCSO to enable quality and system improvements.
**Education**:
- Registered Nurse
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in health-related field. Masters preferred.
