**Job Purpose**

The Junior Buyer is responsible for providing excellent quality and service to Rapid Aid customers and internal departments by purchasing required materials and equipment for Rapid Aid. The Junior Buyer works closely with the Procurement Manager and suppliers to ensure requirements are met in a cost effective and timely manner and communicates with the internal departments of Rapid Aid to ensure quality standards are met by suppliers.

**Specific Accountabilities**
- Provide superior customer service and demonstrate a professional and positive attitude toward internal and external contacts at all times.
- Maintain clear communication with plant, production, sales, and finance in providing information and support.
- Work on forecast
- Obtain quotes for raw material
- Purchase all raw materials, office supplies, and assist in the purchase of plant equipment.
- Assist in the management of freight / logistics worldwide.
- Manage relations with suppliers, and ensure the effective negotiation of contracts, including terms, and rebate prices.
- Source new items necessary for new projects.
- Assist, when required, in international sales and customer service.
- Prepare all purchase orders for approval.
- Track purchase orders and shipments
- Work with quality control as a liaison between Rapid Aid and vendors.
- Work with customers and suppliers in regards to any issues concerning export and import of Rapid Aid products.
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse & Sales in an effort to fulfill customer orders.

**Skills, Technical and Behavioral Competencies Required**:

- Post-secondary education
- 3 years proven work experience in a purchasing role
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to accurately understand verbal and written instructions and respond accordingly
- The ability to ensure work is completed correctly, thoroughly and within established timeframes
- The ability to work and cooperate with others to accomplish department or corporate goals and objectives
- The ability to manage several projects at once while setting specific goals & timelines for completion
- Proficient computer skills to maintain accurate records
- Effective interpersonal communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Strong teamwork approach with the ability to work and cooperate with others to accomplish department and corporate goals and objectives
- Demonstrated organization and multitask skills to work in a fast-paced environment and accommodate changing customer requirements
- Knowledge of Business Vision and computerized inventory management system an asset
- Initiative, desire to succeed, and job ownership required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00 per year
