We are in search of a Junior Buyer to join a transformative transit infrastructure project in Toronto. The Junior Buyer role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision.

The role will report to the Procurement and Contract Formation Lead

What will you be doing:

- Initiate, issue and administer purchase orders through predetermined procedures;
- Prepare bidders lists, bid packages and requests;
- Receive and evaluate bids;
- Prepare purchase recommendations;
- Communicate with clients to secure approvals for purchase in accordance to established procedures;
- Place orders and maintaining all documents and controls to monitor suppliers' performance and conformance to commercial terms;
- Interact with engineering and construction staff to monitor revisions and amendments, and assist at post award meetings to ensure understanding between client and suppliers on all contractual matters.
- Support material receiving and inventory checks
- Administration of purchase orders including expediting of orders, reviewing of progress, invoice reviews and validations as well as entries and updates within the purchasing system.

What we are looking for:

- 1 - 3 years experience in procurement and/or supply chain
- Working knowledge of procurement methods & procedures
- Post secondary education in related field
- Makes decisions and recommendations within authorized limits
- Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, handling deviations from standard methods and resolving difficulties.

Junior Buyer is expected to possess
- Strong work ethic, positive “ready to learn” attitude, attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience within a construction environment and knowledge of construction processes by which the works will be undertaken, is an asset
- Able to work under pressure and to effectively multi-task
- Dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Systems and Microsoft office suite skills
