Assistant Controller

**Position Summary**:
The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in overseeing divisional financial reporting and internal controls. This includes ensuring compliance with SOX, managing period-end close, and analyzing financial results in conjunction with operational KPIs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review & perform account reconciliations
- Review & prepare journal entries
- Assist with divisional-level P&L reporting
- Prepare corporate monthly reporting package
- Lead the accounting close process
- Respond to internal inquiries from operational & administrative departments
- Assist with audit requests and SOX documentation
- Contribute to process improvements in workflows
- Review & analyze financial results and ensure accuracy in revenue/cost recognition
- Support controller in preparing quarterly reports for corporate consolidation
- Mentor junior accountants and promote standardization of accounting processes
- Meet regularly with terminal managers and operations teams to review financial and operational ad-hoc reporting
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- CPA in progress (PREP/PEP); Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in transportation/logistics
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and internal controls
- Relevant TMS system experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills to assist operational leaders with analysis and decision making
- Strong leadership and communication skills

Pay: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
