We are looking for a flexible, motivated Maintenance Technician with a can-do attitude to join our growing team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be in a physical and hands-on role which requires a high degree of communication and attention to detail. You will be required to work independently and meet deadlines in accordance with regular preventative maintenance schedules. Your key responsibilities will include planning, leading, implementing and performing duties to maintain and repair machinery, equipment and related facilities and systems for maximum production safety, quality, and quantity. This is a multi-tasking role to help with various functions in the production department and related facilities. This is a full-time permanent position in a stable and growing organization. Our facility is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
**THE ROLE**:
- Work with the ME team to install and maintain equipment, controls, servos, PLCs, robots, jigs, and other production related systems.
- Participate and implement continuous improvements on production processes.
- Oversee all plant and equipment performance, keeping downtimes to a minimum.
- Establish and maintain a well-equipped and organized workshop.
- Assist with the purchasing of equipment and inventory.
- Source, negotiate, and obtain pricing for equipment, parts, and repairs.
- Coordinate and complete maintenance of the facilities including warehouse, docks, coolers, freezers, offices, lunchrooms, rest rooms, and outside grounds.
- Supervise third party contractors to ensure workmanship and compliance to specifications.
- Comply with all safety rules and adheres to all company Health and Safety policies.
- Ensure that any equipment being used is safe to operate at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Experience working a manufacturing environment implementing improvements.
- Shop experience with common woodworking and metalworking tools.
- Strong communication skills, a high degree of English comprehension skill is required for this role.
- Friendly and approachable personality.
- An ability to self-motivate and work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the day while acting in a safe manner.
- License for forklift and scissor lift is required. Training can be provided if needed.
- Knowledge and experience in warehouse racking safety requirements is an asset.
- Experience integrating robots, controls and other automation projects is an asset.
- Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with tools and equipment.
- Able to read O.E.M. instructions and specifications.
- Knowledge and experience in general troubleshooting.
