**Job description**

Van Gogh Designs is proud of its British Columbian roots offering locally designed and locally made furniture. It currently occupies over 100,000 square feet of state of the art manufacturing facilities. The manufacturing process cuts no corners, and each piece is meticulously inspected for quality control.

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our corporate office in Surrey. We have 2 CNC wood routers, 3 CNC fabric cutting machines, Atlas Copco Compressor, Fiber Filling machine, Sewing machines, wood cutting Saws, Docks etc. Means we have machinery with mix up of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts. This role is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment and general building maintenance by conducting quality control analysis to evaluating performance and compliance for smooth operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing equipment and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Liaise with CNC Programmers and Machinists to troubleshoot program, mechanical or tool related issues.
- Inspect operating condition of all equipment and log repairs and maintenance performed.
- Complete general repairs for plumbing, heating systems and other building components.
- Coordinate repairs with contractors as needed.
- General Building maintenance. I.e. painting, caulking, grounds keeping etc.
- Source and price replacement or repair items by following Van Gogh purchasing guidelines.
- Coordination/Organization of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools to ensure that downtime is minimized along while keeping costs within budget.

**Education and Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Machine and Machine Tool Repair and Direct Digital Control systems.
- Mechanical aptitude - Diagnostic and problem-solving experience
- Hands on technical experience including electrical, plumbing and mechanical
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position
- Physically able to bend, stoop, kneel.
- Basic computer skills
- Practice professionalism by keeping a neat and tidy appearance.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must be able to work independently with a minimum supervision.
