**The Opportunity**: Reporting to the Manager, Student Success, the Indigenous Student Success Coach is responsible for supporting and improving Indigenous student success and retention through outreach, one to one appointments, as well as providing cultural connected supports and services. The Indigenous Student Success coach will welcome all incoming Indigenous students and provide supports from registration through to graduation. This position assists in the implementation and evaluation of college-wide conversion plans and related activities targeted at secondary students and adult learners in local, provincial, and out-of-province markets with a strong focus on Indigenous communities. The incumbent will also help plan orientation and student success programming with a focus on inclusion and indigenous student participation. Maintaining records and data on all initiatives is a requirement of this position. A strong focus on retention rates, creating resources and programming, presenting information, and collecting data to support Indigenous students to be successful learners. Extensive knowledge of college services and an awareness of cultural differences among students to engage and provide appropriate supports. They will contribute to the College podcast and Success team initiatives.
**What you need to be successful**:
- diploma in Social Service Worker - Indigenous Specialization, human services or related discipline
- minimum two years’ practical work experience preferably within an Indigenous community or organization where responsibilities include assessing and advising, presenting educational topics, creating and maintaining databases, writing and delivering training programs
- demonstrated success in a client service environment
- excellent organizational skills
- exceptional attention to detail
- excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills
- MS Office Suite, office365 computer proficiency required
- strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
This is a full-time support staff vacancy, Payband F - $28.56-$33.11 (starting rate $28.56), 35 hours/week.
