Laurier's Milton campus is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, and part of the Nanfan Treaty of 1701 between the British Crown and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. **Position Summary**: Reporting to the Associate Director, Interuniversity, Sport, the incumbent is accountable for the day-to-day management of the inter-university women’s basketball operations, including the planning, strategic development, coaching, recruiting, staffing, budget development and monitoring, marketing, evaluation and delivery of women’s basketball operations at WLU. The incumbent is expected to serve as an effective spokesperson for the women’s basketball program, promoting and enhancing the image of both the women’s basketball program and the University, both on campus and off campus at a provincial and national level. In addition, the incumbent will be accountable for the planning and operation of fundraising initiative that include (but are not limited to camps, coaching clinics, golf tournaments, adopt a hawk, gala’s etc), along with collaboration involving our Alumni, External Relations and Advancement Team, sponsors and other fundraising initiatives This position has a university-wide mandate and is based at the Waterloo campus. The incumbent provides leadership in a multi-campus environment, requiring regular interaction, communication and collaboration with staff and stakeholders at the Waterloo campus, Brantford campus, Provincial and National sport organizations, and external partners. The Manager will ensure the policies, programs and services are delivered equitably across all campuses and reflect the needs of all stakeholders. Nature and Scope: The Manager of Women’s Basketball Operations and Head Coach will be accountable for the successful operation and strategic direction of the WLU women’s basketball program. More specifically, the accountability of this position would currently include the hiring, discipline and performance management of one full time (WLUSA) assistant coach, part time assistant basketball coach(es) as well as part-time positions directly related to the women’s basketball operation. Leading the team members as a positive role model, the position is also responsible for leading the interaction with 25 - 30 student-athlete members of the women’s basketball team. During the “season”, the women’s hockey operation needs to be managed seven days a week including both training and competition. Outof-season duties for the Manager of Women’s Basketball Operations and Head Coach include accountability for a comprehensive recruiting system and strategy designed to attract top quality student-athletes. The incumbent will also be responsible for collaboration with the head Athletic Therapist and Coordinator, High performance Strength & Conditioning to plan and execute an effective off-season strength and conditioning program, and will be accountable, in consultation with the Associate Director, Interuniversity Sport Programs and the Sr. Coordinator, Sport & Athlete Services, for providing the leadership and strategic direction of a successful studentathlete development program. The Manager will be accountable for motivating alumni to become involved in event fundraising and development activities and must meet annual fundraising targets. The Manager is accountable for developing and implementing a fundraising strategy in conjunction with the Associate Director, Interuniversi
