Accounting Clerk/admin/shipping Assistant

Seeking a Accounting Clerk/Shipping Clerk to take care of company day to day financial tasks.
You will be responsible for both accounts payables and receivables along with payroll and bank account reconciliation tasks.
To do well in this role you should have previous experience as a Bookkeeper and have used QuickBooks or Sage.
**Responsibilities**:
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile hst, payroll taxes and bank accounts at the end of each month.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports.
- Process accounts receivable and payable.
- Process checks.
- Create Journal Entries
- Understand ledgers.
- Post to the General Ledger
- Work with an Accountant when necessary.
- Handle Bi - Weekly payroll using Sage
- Knowledge of bookkeeping software.
- At least two years bookkeeping experience, preferably within a business-services environment.
**Assist with Shipping** - determined method of shipment and prepare bills, invoices and other shipping documents, process orders based on the buyer's preferred shipping system (e.g. UPS, FedEx,Purolator, etc.)
*Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
- Contact Carrier and schedule shipping for each package
**Aministrative Duties**: answering and routing phone calls, sorting and sending mail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks or Sage
- Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement.
- Associate's degree in accounting or business administration.
Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles. Ideally, you would have a minimum of 1+ year’s experience as a Bookkeeper.
Experience of accounting software is required, with knowledge of QuickBooks/Sage and Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel.
