The Indigenous Engagement and Caseload Support Worker reports to the Program Manager. This position provides a flexible service that helps to engage potential Indigenous referrals and assists with maintaining engagement throughout programming. The Indigenous Cultural Caseload Manger plays an integral role in providing culturally appropriate and trauma-informed programming that orients and motivates clients toward appropriate daily functioning, life skills, physical health mental health and substance use support services from a culturally sensitive lens.

**Description of Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure that participants are aware of and have access to the most effective cultural resources and services to support their SMART Plan.
- Make referrals to and support client engagement with relevant clinical and cultural services.
- Provide outreach services for potential Indigenous referrals.
- Attend intakes with the multi-disciplinary program team.
- Build rapport with Indigenous participants and engaging throughout programming.
- Provide Indigenous engagement based on the Medicine Wheel's four major health and wellness components (spiritual, physical, emotional, mental).
- Work within and incorporate the 94 calls to action (TRC) as appropriate.
- Serve as a liaison for cultural support for participants.
- Assist the Program Manager with innovative ideas for Indigenous engagement and case management.
- Completing data entry in ETO.
- Attend general staff meetings and attend training as required.
- Any other related tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Program Manager.

**Position Requirements**
- Experience working with Indigenous individuals.
- A strong understanding of the TRC and its 94 calls to action.
- A strong understanding of Indigenous traditions and protocol.
- A strong understanding of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW).
- Has established Indigenous networks and connections within the community.
- An understanding that this position is not caseload carrying, but rather supporting all Indigenous participants who consent to it.
- Demonstrated level of literacy and communication skills sufficient for job responsibilities.
- Adhering to contractual obligations.
- An open, accepting attitude.
- Experience in working in the addictions field.
- Diploma or degree in human services field and 1 to 2 years’ experience working with a marginalized population.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Own vehicle with $2 million liability insurance and may transport clients as needed.
