**Responsibilities include**:

- Liaising with research staff
- Collect, process, ship, store, catalogue, and test various types of human patient samples for multiple sites and studies
- Perform various laboratory techniques
- Facility monitoring and equipment maintenance
- Reviewing study protocols and maintaining records of sample processing
- Order and maintain stock of study supplies for both the lab and for distribution to multiple sites
- Act as technical support for study coordinators and investigators and provide training/orientation for self-service clinical research laboratory activities
- Demonstrated ability to follow established guidelines and protocols and to complete work assignments in effective and efficient manner
- Maintain up to date training for clinical research
- Laboratory services related communication, promotions and presentations

**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:

- BSc in Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics) or College Diploma (biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology) or relevant experience
- Experience in data and sample management
- Superior interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
- Experience in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Class 6.2 and Class 9).
- Experience working in a Clinical and/or Basic Research environment is an asset.
- Certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, Health Canada Division 5

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Customer service orientation
- Previous laboratory experience
- Ability to perform phlebotomy
- Presentation experience

**Contract Details**:
This is a part-time 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal

**Salary**: Min: $21.067/hr. - Max: $30.443/hr.
