As a Trans Mountain Electrical Technician, you will be expected to provide Operational/ Maintenance Support in a multiskilled work environment that promotes public safety, environmental stewardship and pipeline integrity. In this role, you would be required to utilize maintenance tracking software to manage, document and verify the functional integrity of protective devices, valve actuators, PLC’s mainline motors and high voltage infrastructure. The role would also be expected to work in both Operations and other trades designations as suitably trained and competent.

The Electrical Technician will provide Electrical, Operational & Emergency Response support to ensure public safety, environmental stewardship and integrity compliance. This position is based in the Sumas District, Hope Pump Station, reporting to the Operations Supervisor.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, commission, maintain and repair low and high voltage electrical systems.
- Trouble-shoot electrical circuits, communication networks and control equipment with associated software, schematics, files and drawings.
- Support and perform programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces, Programmable Logic Controllers and associated control systems.
- Provide Electrical support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while performing duties.
- Analyze, interpret and utilize graphic and other information contained in SCADA displays and P&ID drawings.
- Perform and document Electrical Maintenance tasks as defined by maintenance tracking software, ensuring system reliability and integrity.
- Support Emergency Response initiatives and program.
- Provide Operational support to ensure throughput and system reliability.
- Perform Operational duties including Pigging Operations, Daily Facility Integrity Rounds.
- Participate in District On-Call Rotation working afterhours and weekends when needed.
- Support and assist other Trades in the District and Neighboring Districts.

**Qualifications and Professional Requirements**:

- High School completion.
- Journeyman Electrician Certificate (Red Seal and TQ Endorsement) with 3-5 years’ experience working in an Industrial Environment.
- Instrumentation Red Seal endorsement would be an asset.
- Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician or similar role in an industrial setting.
- Previous Electrical Experience and training working with Motor Controls, VFD’s, High Voltage Equipment and Hazardous Location Installations as defined by the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code).
- Specific Knowledge & Training:

- Keep Canada Core & Electrical Trade Training.
- Canadian Electrical Code.
- Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code requirements.
- Understanding of motor control logic.
- High voltage safety training.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members across various trades.
- Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks as required.
