Seeking a part time Animal care Attendant/ Veterinary Assistant for a small Animal clinic in Ridgeway,On. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills we us a “team” approach to the care we give out patients/clients. Applicants must be hard-working and work cohesively in a team environment and not afraid to clean as well. Weekend and weekday shifts are included in the schedule.
Requirements for the job are:
- Kennel care: providing basic care to boarding animals and patients including feeding, bathing, walking, providing medication, documenting routine
- Cleaning cages and hospital including but not limited to : laundry, floors, taking out the trash and recycling, cleaning treatment areas, surgery, exam rooms, kennels, bathrooms and kitchen
- Properly holding and restraint of animals ( Heavy lifting required-up to 50 lbs)
- Handing instruments during procedures
- Inventory maintenance: including unpacking products, pricing, date checking and shelving
- Answering phones and making appointments as required
- Check in / Disharge clients, take basic medical history
- Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors and or management
- Animal care, X-ray, lab work, blood collection, exam room tech, general nursing care, administering first aid for emergencies and monitoring animals under anesthesia

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
