Stantec’s DTI members also engage in research & development and provide guidance and oversight as a center of excellence for the business. This includes engaging in new product research & testing and the incubation of digital transformation, process automation and improvement, and innovative ideas that arise from around the company.

In the Innovation Office, the Digital Technology & Innovation team is composed of digital experts who conduct research and development to keep our teams—and our client’s projects—ahead of the technological curve. They implement established technologies and find emerging solutions for all business lines (Buildings, Energy & Resources, Environmental Services, Infrastructure, and Water), bridging existing knowledge domains and facilitating the integration of powerful tools and methods. The team’s goals are to digitalize our organization, support Stantec’s digital transformation, and to increase the capacity of our designers, engineers, and scientists, providing higher-quality results and solutions to our clients.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Work with Stantec’s client-facing project and program teams to architect and deploy innovative systems and tools and that address the business process and requirement needs of the client.
- Determining an effective structure and layout for complex manuals and other technical documentation
- Conducting research and liaising with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical data, drawings, and specification
- Ensuring that appropriate technical content and terminology review occurs, and that provision is made for the incorporation of updates and revisions
- Editing content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability
- Design and develop eLearning and classroom training materials for adult learners
- Assigns, reviews and evaluates work for technical accuracy and completeness; advises on technical problems
- Completed work is accepted as technically accurate and is reviewed for adherence to standards and practices
- Understand functional requirements for a software system and articulate information technology solutions to technical and non-technical users.
- Coordinate with development team members using fit for purpose project methodologies
- Develop appropriately detailed specifications for product features so that they are clearly understood by the development teams.
- Makes independent decisions on work methods and procedures within a program/practice area specialization

**Qualifications**

**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
- Visual design experience to produce a variety of graphic, animation, audio-visual, simulation and script design and layout work for eLearning
- Excellent written and oral English language communication skills, including writing and editing
- Experience with MS Office including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to break down a business issue or process into component parts. Ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems while anticipating dependencies and interrelationships.
- Demonstrates a willingness to make decision within delegated authority levels. Take appropriate risks with good judgment to satisfy our internal and external customers.
- Ability to articulate the needs of a client through requirements gathering exercises and turn them into achievable solutions based upon the suite of technologies available.
- Continuous Improvement - Contributes ideas for improvements in work methods, systems, processes, and procedures
- Looks for innovative ways to add value beyond clients' immediate requests
- Identifies gaps in information and makes assumptions in order to continue analysis and/or take action
- Ensures documents are in compliance with legal, regulatory and our organization policies & guidelines
- Reads, processes and dissects large quantities of information to spot errors and inconsistencies requiring guidance in only the most complex situations
- Scans the environment for new technologies that can benefit our business
- Leverages technology to produce higher value outcomes

**Education and Experience**
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and concurrently be detail oriented.
- Self-starter who can work independently, multi-task, balance multiple priorities and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
