Reporting to the Municipal Engineer, the Summer Student, Plans and Records Assistant position is responsible for:

- Scan various documents in order to build a comprehensive archive for future reference and current needs.
- Scan various documents and reports in order to link the digital copy to various GIS mapping features.
- Scan historical Water and Sewer drawings and create a digital index for Cornwall Docs.
- Assist in the collection of infrastructure condition information for municipal assets including sewer, watermains, roadways and sidewalks using various standard inventory and data collection techniques.
- All other duties as assigned.

Hours:
8:30 AM to 4:30 PM 35 hours per week

Required Qualifications:

- Full-time day student at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance the fall of 2025.
- Be enrolled in a college or university level education in civil engineering or a related field.
- Ability to travel to various locations across the City in a timely and efficient manner

Asset Qualifications:

- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
- A valid Class G2 or G Driver’s License.

If selected for this role, you will need to provide:

- Successful reference check (two work-related references, with a minimum of one being a direct supervisor)
- Verification of school status

All Summer Students must be Full-time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in the fall of 2025.
