Pastry Chef - Butter Tart Specialist
**Placement Duration**
This is an 8-week placement made possible with Canada Summer Jobs Therefore applicants must be under 30 years old. We are hoping to be able to keep the staff hired following this 8-week placement
**Tasks and Responsibilities**
The Pastry Chef will work in a fast-paced bakery with a focus on butter tart production, ensuring products meet quality standards and that recipes are developed and consistently meet customer demand. Responsibilities include:
- Baking butter tarts ALL BY HAND with precision and consistency
- Preparing, packaging, and presenting butter tarts for sale and distribution
- Managing production schedules to meet daily and weekly targets
- Maintaining quality control throughout the baking process
- Managing inventory and ordering ingredients specifically for butter tart production
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Keeping the kitchen and baking equipment clean and well-maintained
- Collaborating with other kitchen staff to support bakery operations
- Meeting production projections and expectations related to butter tart sales
- Giving a daily report of butter tart production
