**ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY**

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Conduct safety & environmental observations within construction operations
- Inspect worksites to ensure that equipment and materials do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public to ensure compliance with Company / Client Policy and Legislation
- Review/perform/complete incident & inspection reports and ensure that corrective action and follow-up is taken
- Assist with early and safe return-to-work plans
- Participate in the development and implementation of health & safety programs & strategies related to relevant construction work
- Participate in the development of safe work practices and job procedures
- Maintain inventory of safe work practices and job procedures
- Provide consultation and deliver training programs to employees on issues of health & safety
- Coordinate/Assist site activity and ensure that the duties, responsibilities, and authority are clearly defined
- Assist, advise and coach manager(s) and supervisors
- Review and investigate problems not resolved by site supervisors and contractors
- Ensure that appropriate practices and procedures are provided to supervisory staff
- Review the maintenance of safety equipment
- Conduct audits of subcontractor loss control programs
- Support and ensure accurate investigation, reporting, and effective cleanup of spills related to the B&M Environmental program.

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Advisors may eventually be required to become certificated with the Certified Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP)
- NCSO, CUSP, CRSP designations are assets
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
- Holding a Certificate of Qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Plumber/Pipe Fitter and Journeyman Sheet Metal is considered an asset
- Training in Fall Protection/Working at Heights, First-Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Electrical Awareness, Asbestos Awareness are assets
- Working knowledge of provincial (CNESST) and federal HSE regulations, programs and standards
- Languages: fluently read, write, and speak in English and French

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- 5+ years' of experience within the HSE related field
- Experience working within the construction, industrial and commercial sectors
- Familiar with industry guidelines, ESA Code, TSSA Standards & appropriate CSA standards
- Physically able to conduct site inspections in various settings
- Ability to recognize hazards as well as advise on appropriate safe work methods
- Ability to understand technical drawings/systems is an asset
- ** Ability to travel to various project sites in and around Quebec is required**:
