About Highland Park Preschool

Highland Park Community Preschool is a not-for-profit, non-denominational, parent operated

school. Our “learn through purposeful play” curriculum is aimed at developing

physical, social, emotional and creative skills in a caring and loving atmosphere. The

program recognizes that each child develops at his/her own pace and our program is not

competitive or comparative. We provide a learning environment that fosters a child’s

sense of wonder and curiosity to instill confidence and a love of learning. We are seeking

Position Details
- Days/Hours: HPCA has 4 preschool classes: Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning,

Monday/Wednesday/Friday afternoon, Tuesday/Thursday morning and Tuesday/Thursday Afternoons. Flexibility for

needs of the HPCA. Afternoon classes run from 12:30 - 3:00 pm. Morning classes from 9-11:30
- Planning meeting once per session or as required
- Child Development Assistant (Level I) or Child Development Worker (Level II) Certificate

required
- Current CPR/First Aid and Police Clearance required
- Prior teaching experience with preschool aged children is an asset
- Job will commence September 1, 2025
- Competitive salary dependant on relevant experience
- Up to 10 month contract (Sep - Jun) with the potential to renew on a yearly basis

**Responsibilities**
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective communication and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Maintain a safe classroom by adhering to CPR and First Aid protocols.
- Collaborate with staff to enhance educational experiences for all students.
