Labourers - Highways

We are looking for a general handy person, who is available to spend extended time away from home, who is hardworking with an eye for details and a can-do attitude. If this describes you, we’d love to speak with you and have you join our Highways group to work throughout the province for the construction season.

**What is the role?**

The Labourer’s main focus is to support the Highways construction production, becoming a key player within the crew.
- Assists with demolition of concrete structures.
- Operating equipment and machinery such as jackhammers, bobcats and small hand tools.
- Assists skilled trades people and performs a wide range of tasks at construction sites.
- Flagging and traffic control.
- Loading, unloading, identifying, and distributing materials and equipment.
- Cleaning and preparation of construction sites.

**What do we value?**
- 3+ years minimum construction experience preferred; Highways construction experience is considered an asset
- First Aid and Fall protection training is an asset
- Physically fit and able to do physically demanding work for extended period
- Able to work at heights (stripping buggy and bridge master hanging over the bridge railing and up from the river)
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License

- Nisku, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
