Camp Counselor Summer 2025

**Job Summary**
We are looking for energetic camp counselors for our Mississauga and Oakville locations. Duties would include leading a group of kids in one or more camps including: Crafts, STEM, Lego robotics, baking, sports development, Creator Camp (film making, youtube, special effects, cartoon animation)

Counselors will also be required to supervise a group of kids in outdoor play activities and on a Field Trip outing that includes supervising bus transportation.

Counselors will report to a Team Leader /Site Supervisor at their location

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading a group of campers in some of the following camps: Baking, Crafts, Lego Robotics, STEM.
- Lead the group through the daily schedule including material preparation, the core activities, transition between activities, lunch period, outside play activity, maintaining a clean area/section and a Field Trip outing
- Assist with Check In /Check Out as required
- Assist with Lost/Found at the end of the each day
- Clean and maintain your work area and tidy up the facility with your teammates
- Engaging with all campers to assist them as required in completing their activities
- Providing consistent leadership to the group to encourage positive group interactions
- Creating and fostering a safe, fun & inclusive environment for all campers
- Ability to resolve conflict positively and fairly between campers
- Safely Supervise and guide a group of kids while on Field Trip outings once a week. Includes safe bus loading/travel/ unloading, group movement at the site
- Following the direction of the Site Supervisor and working within a team structure both offering and accepting help as needed
- Occasionally interact with parents/guardians of campers to provide updates on their child/children.

**Successful Applicants qualifications**:

- Should be available for the entire camp period Monday to Friday March 10 to March 14, 2025 for assigned hours
- Must have a current police vulnerable sector in place by the start of camp
- Must have a valid First Aid/CPR level C certificate in place by the start of camp
- Should have teamwork and collaboration mindset and skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills with the ability to be flexible as needed
- Mandatory paid staff training days prior to Camp
- Minimum 1 year of previous camp experience or similar experience with kids an asset
- Must attend Camp Training on Saturday March 8, 2024 from noon to 430 pm
- **Skills**:

- Should have on the spot problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve a desired outcome
- Must enjoy interacting with campers from ages 4 to 12
- Must be patient and be comfortable working in a busy, loud & hectic setting

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
