2026 Saga Summer Camps: Staff Job Descriptions

The Admin team will need to be able to work with staff across both camps as well as

working collaboratively with the other directors and year-round staff to determine the unique needs of the camps in order to provide administrative support, and be a liaison for connecting families into camp.

• Oversight and implementation of the whole-camp admin process (sign-in, sign-out, attendance etc.)
• Collaboration of communication to Volunteers including, processing applications and reference checks, managing volunteer hours, and record keeping.
• Collaboration on positive, professional communication with families of campers or volunteers with exceptionalities or behavioural challenges on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure positive interactions for parents and campers during sign in/sign out.
• Communications for camps through permission forms and parent interactions.
• Implementation and record keeping of income, expenses and subsidies.
• Oversee the camper registration process, including the maintaining of camp numbers, wait lists, and tracking online engagement.
• Implementation of the weekly camp BBQ, including ordering supplies, working alongside volunteers, and overseeing the weekly BBQ process for camp.
• Ensure adherence to any relevant health protocols and safety for all campers at Saga Summer Camps.

The Admin team will consist of an Admin Director and Admin Support staff.

Admin Staff (Two Positions Available)

Admin Director (Starts early June, and ends August 15, 2025)

Admin Support (Starts late June and ends August 15, 2025)

The Day Camp team will be responsible for the implementation of Saga Day Camp for kids ages 5-10, working alongside high-school volunteers and year-round staff at Clarkson Community Church.

• Leadership, developing, resourcing and implementing a fun, safe and effective program for campers who have finished senior kindergarten to grade four.
• Providing clear responsibilities to volunteers
• Working with admin toward the ordering and purchasing of equipment for an effective program.
• Overseeing the development and care of camper teams for weekly programming.
• Providing on-the-job training, support and encouragement for volunteers at Day Camp.
• Ensuring volunteers are resourced with all they need to perform their roles effectively.
• Supporting the weekly camp BBQ.

The Day Camp team will consist of a Day Camp Director, two Day Camp Coordinators, and two Day Camp Support staff.

Day Camp Staff (Five Positions Available)

Day Camp Director (Starts early June and ends August 15, 2025)

Day Camp Coordinator (Starts mid June and ends August 15, 2025)

Day Camp Support (Starts late June and ends August 15, 2025)

The Youth Camp team will be responsible for the implementation of Saga Day Camp for youth ages 11-13, working alongside high-school volunteers and year-round staff at Clarkson Community Church.

• Leadership, developing, resourcing and implementing a fun, safe and effective program for campers who have finished grades five to seven.
• Providing clear responsibilities to volunteers.
• Working with admin toward the ordering and purchasing of equipment for an effective program.
• Overseeing the development and care of camper teams for weekly programming.
• Providing on-the-job training, support and encouragement for volunteers at Youth Camp.
• Ensuring volunteers are resourced with all they need to perform their roles effectively.
• Supporting the weekly camp BBQ.

Youth Camp Director (Starts early June and ends August 15, 2025)

Job Type: Seasonal

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: From $17.70 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
