Maintenance Worker

**Position Summary**

We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition of our facility and machines. The job holder will be required to perform a variety of tasks including machine maintenance, building maintenance, general repairs and inspections.

- Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation and maintenance procedures.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose and repair malfunctions.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
- Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components.
- Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
- Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts, such as gaskets or seals in watertight electrical equipment.
- Set up and acceptance testing of new and used industrial equipment and newly repaired equipment to ensure that it functions properly in accordance with manufacturers specifications.

- Consult with customers, supervisors, or engineers to plan layout of equipment or to resolve problems in facility operation or maintenance..
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and materials.

**Qualifications**

**Education**: Industrial millwright or Electrician Trade Certification an asset

**Experience**: 5 years or more in a manufacturing environment. Experience in metal fabrication would be an asset

**Languages**: Speak English, Read English, Write English

**Major Work Area**: Maintenance, Repair, Service, installation, Troubleshooting/Diagnostic of equipment including welding machines, automated cutting machines, CNC drilling machines, CNC turning machines.

**Specific Skills**: Install, examine, replace or repair mechanical and electrical components, read blueprints, schematics and drawings, and a strong mechanical background would be an asset.

**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**: Manual dexterity, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.

**Essential Skills**: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use.

Pay: $24.53-$42.51 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
