**Healthcare Worker** for a Long Term Care client in
** Pickering,** Ontario. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of the IPAC Coordinator/Managers, our Healthcare worker will work in close contact with residents/personnel to help them implement IPAC programs and achieve the goals set out for them.

**Schedule**:

- ** 35- Hours per week as of September (Alternating Weekend Availability is needed)**

**Job Duties**:

- Creates and provides regular reports regarding the IPAC surveillance (HAIR Rates) HAI and regularly reviews with the IPAC team.
- Assist and/or Oversee and administer daily maintenance of database activities.
- Formats and updates internal Infection Prevention and Control related alerts and communication.
- Assists Decision Support in reporting to the MOHLTC as part of public reporting requirements.
- Accountable for and acts as the key resource person providing coordination, organization, data collection, monitoring of compliance, employee education, supervision of volunteer hand hygiene auditors, and support for any hygiene programs/initiatives.
- Plans develop, organizes, and coordinates the operation of activities/events.
- Provides accurate and meaningful data to internal and external teams, committees, and physician groups developing and accurately assessing data needs and using available resources to obtain data.
- Supports the IPAC department with the planning, design, development, and implementation of IPAC projects and initiatives.
- Supporting IPAC Committee quarterly and ad hoc meetings.
- Coordinate meetings (outbreak management team, IPAC team, etc.), including agendas, minutes, scheduling meetings, etc.
- Supply monitoring and ordering.
- Support the IPAC manager in program administrative duties.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be a Healthcare Worker graduate or equivalent (University and/or College Diploma/Degree in Health-related discipline, Sciences, Nursing, Laboratory Sciences, Occupational Health/Safety and/or Education)** (No PSW).**:

- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in infection control is a definite asset.
- Infection Prevention & Control (a-IPC) and/or Certification in Infection Control (CIC) an asset.
- Ability to effectively articulate vital components of an IPAC program with all levels of personnel/clients.
- Ability to (assist with) develop and facilitate IPAC policies and programs.
- Knowledge of educational principles in program development and teaching.
- Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, communication, diplomacy, coaching, facilitation, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced challenging environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and planning skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft, PCC, etc.,
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home is required.
- Good work and attendance record required.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required.
- A current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
- Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
