**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Implementation Lead - Clinical Planning, the Manager, Projects & Facilities, is responsible for effective project management of capital projects, including management of department, human resources, equipment, supplies, and space, quality improvement, policy development and program planning, and fiscal management. The incumbent works directly with a variety of stakeholders within the organization and external, representing Southern Health-Santé Sud on committees and ensuring effective communication.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of five (5) years in all aspects of major construction.
- Minimum of five (5) years comprehensive project planning/Management experience including experience working in facility space planning, LEED and construction of capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience with Project Management principles, processes and procedures.
- Experience in construction trades including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry.

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- Post secondary education with focus on Project Management, and/or Construction Management.
- Health Care Management Certification or other post secondary business administration education.
- Completion of Certified Engineering Technology Program.
- Licensed Red Seal trade certificate an asset.
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

**Certification/Licensure/Registration**:

- LEED Certification an asset.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Knowledge of contract administration, including inspections and on-site reviews.
- Thorough knowledge of building construction, building and fire codes, and related regulations applicable to health facilities in Manitoba.
- Knowledge related to architectural drawings and process including the ability to read blue prints and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health Act and Safe Work principles.
- Knowledge of energy saving methods and principles.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large and complex projects, involving multiple partners.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving.
- Effective leadership ability including achieving operations objectives (programmatic, financial and human resource management) in a results-based, multiple site/program environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility to meet the demands of the position in a fast-paced environment.
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
- Good work and attendance record.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
