We serve immigrant and refugee women and their families through partnerships, services, and programs that are timely, culturally appropriate, and address their unique concerns. AIWCC is seeking a qualified, experienced, and talented proposal writer officer with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the needs of various under-represented and racialized groups within Alberta and across Canada.
The Fund Development Manager will be responsible in developing complex proposals, fundraising methods and plans to obtain funding from the government funder, foundations and private funder expert writing skills, you will be responsible for producing professionally formatted documents and producing high quality, successful proposals.

Our expertise and success have been enhanced in providing specialized and innovative service provision to some of the highest barriered groups in immigrant women and children, survivors of violence, multi-barriered, youth, adults and seniors. Many services target mainly emerging newcomer communities in Edmonton speaking the following languages, amongst others: Filipino Language, Arabic, Spanish, Farsi, Dari, Somali, Tigrinya, Swahili, French and Hindi and more.

- Consistent demonstration of alignment between business development and AIWCC’S strategic direction.
- Verification of the feasibility, model fidelity, target group appropriateness, credibility, high adoption, cost effectiveness and sustainability of programming.
- The proposal writer officer is expected to deliver their services in ways that are consistent with AIWCC’s target process and characteristics of long-term value.
- Priorities include researching grant opportunities, developing, writing, and submitting grant proposals to the funder.
- Write and coordinate full grant proposals and reports to foundations, corporations, and selected government agencies as determined by the grants calendar and grant reporting requirements.
- Reviewing grant budgets, reporting data on the performance of funded program activities.
- Foster the growth and implementation of best practices for all grant related functions, including proposal writing, budget development, and data integrity.

**Research & Planning**:

- Identify corporate and foundation projects and develop effective solicitation strategies to secure funding priority initiatives.
- Research and compile pertinent institutional information for projects requiring funding including letters of intent, proposal and reports.
- Understand AIWCC’s goals, including preparing proposals, and fundraising development.
- Develop relationships with funders and private donors.

**Qualifications**:

- At least 3+ years of successful proposal writing experience, with preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Able to write larger proposals from Canadian federal departments such as: Immigration and Refugee Citizenship Canada (IRCC); the Employment Social Development Canada (ESDC); Women and Gender Equality; Health Canada, etc. as well as AB Provincial ministries such as: Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation; Municipal Affairs Post secondary and Skills Future; Children and Family Development, Public Safety and Solicitor General; Senior, Community and Social Services.
- Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to develop compelling narratives that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and goals.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team as a project manager to ensure milestones are met in the development of complex proposals.
- Demonstrable experience in carrying out background research to support needs assessments/rationale for
