Resident Care Manager

Reporting to the Director of Care (DOC), the LPN Resident Care Manager (RCM) supports the DOC in the day-to-day management of the care department to provide safe, quality care to our independent and supportive living residents.
- Prepare for physician clinics
- Liaise with physicians, pharmacies, and the interdisciplinary team to professionally communicate resident needs; ensure staff assignments are implemented to reflect the care plan
- Participate in DAL tours when required
- Follow up on incident reports; maintain tracking database on Excel; prepare reports
- Perform administrative duties requiring proficiency with computers and office paperwork
- Scheduling of HCA/LPN shifts
- Provide after-hours on-call coverage
- Provide LPN floor coverage, when needed
- Work closely with staff, residents, and families in concern resolution
- Provide hands-on supervision, guidance, and mentorship to nursing staff
- Assist to monitor for staff compliance to infection control principles, medication management, care, and transfer techniques
- Assist to develop strategies and processes to improve efficiencies
- Participate in OH&S committee and workplace safety initiatives
- Collaborate with all departments to provide services
**Qualifications**:
- Strong clinical nursing skills with recent floor experience
- Strong administrative skills required, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; prior administrative or unit clerking experience a definite asset
- Must have the ability to prioritize workload, be detail oriented, and organized
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience in Supportive Living and Home Living Programs an asset
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Current Alberta registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector dated within 6 months
