- Support Quality Initiatives and assist in the implementation
- Continually monitor Production personnel to ensure compliance with Client Requirements (Work Order/drawings) and JFE Shoji Power Canada Standards
- Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to Shift Leader
- Approves finished products (Final Inspection) by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and approving rework processes
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Ensure Shop Floor Personnel (including Maintenance) adheres to proper handling of non-conforming product
- Issue Quality Alerts and communicate to Production floor (includes obtaining signatures for acknowledgment).
- New document implementation and training (including sign off from Production)
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Develop and Support Continuous Improvement Ideas to improve process/procedures
**Your skills & experience...**
- One to two years’ quality inspector experience an asset
- Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma an asset
- Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Analytic skills
- Documentation skills
- Blueprint reading
