Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Quality Inspector position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.
**JOB SUMMARY**:
Complete quality assurance related functions in accordance with standard operating procedures or special procedures, as directed. Under moderate supervision, performs simple to complex dimensional and visual inspection of parts, final assemblies, tooling or cylinders by utilizing the appropriate tolerance based IM&TE. Reads and interprets drawings, inspection plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met. Completes quality records and documents non-conforming products. Focus is on learning inspection techniques and how to use more complex inspection equipment.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Performs receiving inspection on incoming goods (may include visual, physical and dimensional inspections).
- Performs dimensional and final inspections on manufactured parts.
- Responsible for calibration of gauges.
- Assists in implementing and maintaining HSE guide and procedures.
- Participates in safety walks and/or performs workplace hazard analysis.
- Performs Certified Individual duties.
- According to specifications, performs accurate dimensional and visual inspection of components, final assemblies, purchased products, tooling or cylinders by utilizing the appropriate tolerance based IM&TE.
- Reads and interprets documents such as; drawings, work order instructions, inspection plans and specifications.
- Verifies products are in conformance with all engineering requirements, work order specifications and instructions.
- Conducts basic in-process and courtesy checks for production and conducts in-process inspection auditing.
- Completes and documents inspection records, i.e. 1st Article reports, Dimensional reports, LAT documents, etc. on the computer using various software programs and inspection instructions.
- Interprets and performs inspections on GD&T dimensions.
- Records non-conformances of products or documents and forwards information to appropriate personnel.
- Learns to use advanced inspection equipment; i.e. CMM, optical comparator.
- Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
- Performs visual and dimension inspections of welds in accordance to specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**SKILLS**:
- Above average computer skills are preferred

**EDUCATION & TRAINING**:
- 3 year college related program minimum

- Experience preferred but not required
