**Reports to** | Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

**Job Summary **- As a Receiving Inspector, you will ensure the quality and compliance of incoming materials in the metal shop environment by conducting thorough inspections. The Receiving Inspector plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of product integrity, safety and adherence to specifications.

**Responsibilities**:
The Receiving Inspector has the following duties:

- Inspect incoming raw materials, components and finished products for conformity to established quality standards.
- Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to assess dimensional accuracy, surface finish and overall product quality.
- Verify material certifications, test reports, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Report any non-conformity to Quality Assurance and internal teams to facilitate corrective action.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify defects, damages, or deviations from established standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation, ensuring traceability and accountability.
- Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures and protocols.
- Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to communicate inspection results and provide timely feedback.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous quality enhancement activities.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment during the inspection process.
- Participate in quality audits if called on.
- Acts as a backup to material handler unloading inbound goods.
- Any other Tasks assigned by supervisor.

**Requirements**:

- ** **High school diploma or GED required. Additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Experienced in reading blueprints, using basic measuring devices including micrometers, vernier calipers, tape measures, thread gauges.
- Experience with product inspection in a machine shop / sheet metal environment.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel etc and experience with the companies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software NAV
- Interpersonal skills are essential, as cross functional work is required.
- Experience using a forklift and professional forklift certification will be an advantage.
- Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to importance.
- Personal accountability and integrity is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills and relevant customer service experience is a plus.

- Mechanical Aptitude, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Attention to Detail and ability to work within a team.
