**Full-time Position**
Gold River, a quaint coastal village located in central Vancouver Island, is seeking a full-time Finance Clerk I to join our team. Gold River is an outdoor mecca for adventure at all times of the year with our incredible recreation services. The Village Aquatic Center includes a 25-meter swimming pool, sauna & hot tub, and a lazy river with a bubble pool for toddlers. In addition, the Village hosts racquet courts along with a weight room, fitness center and rooms for aerobics and yoga classes complemented with an Arena Complex which contains a community hall and both a curling and ice rink.
The position will be is responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, petty cash management, cashier, customer service, daily cash receipts, bank deposits, payroll backup, reception and main telephone switchboard. The Finance Clerk I must work well with other office staff to provide high quality customer service in all areas including property tax. The Finance Clerk I must be able to multi-task and deal effectively with other departments and the public.
**Qualified applicants will have**:
- A Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent,
- A minimum of two years accounting experience (including accounts receivable and payable),
- Competence in the use of computers in an office environment,
- Ability to deliver polite and effective customer service,
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member,
- Excellent organizational and communication skills and good telephone manners,
- And, an innovative nature and willingness to implement and adapt to change. Applicant will also require a satisfactory Criminal Record check.
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 3399 full-time position, with a 35-hour work week. The rate of pay shall be $29.39 per hour.
