**OVERVIEW**:
The Manager of Accounting Operations is responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, managing audits and tax requests, and ensuring financial close processes are completed accurately and on time. This role supervises the accounts payable and payments team, monitors internal controls (without direct enforcement responsibilities), and supports projects aimed at streamlining accounting and accounts payable (AP) operations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Accounting Operations & Financial Close**
- Oversee accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions**.**:

- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring reconciliations and financial reports are completed within deadlines.
- Ensure financial records comply with applicable accounting standards (GAAP/ASPE).
- Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations of key accounts.

**Audit, Tax & Compliance Support**
- Manage audit and tax-related requests, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors and tax authorities.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth audit processes.

**Accounts Payable & Payments Oversight**
- Supervise the accounts payable and payments team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Support initiatives to improve payment efficiency and vendor relationship management.
- Assist in resolving payment discrepancies and managing escalations as needed.

**Process Improvement & Accounting Projects**
- Assist with projects focused on streamlining accounting and AP processes, including automation and system enhancements.
- Identify areas for process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices.
- Support ERP and financial system upgrades or enhancements as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of financial close processes, reconciliations, and accounting operations.
- Experience in managing audits, tax compliance, and working with external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with accounts payable and payment processes is a plus.
- Master the Office suite. (Advanced Excel required).
- Prior knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Prior knowledge of BI tools (SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI) is an asset
- Proficiency in French is essential, and proficiency in English is also required to meet the needs of the position.
