**Job description**

**Customer Service**
- Represent West Hillhurst Paint + Design professionally with enthusiasm and a friendly attitude
- Become a product knowledge expert in Benjamin Moore paint, HunterDouglas blinds, and other product lines
- Greet customers warmly and ensure a good customer experience;
- Interact with and assist all customers in a positive, mature and upbeat manner
- Assist customers with colour and decor selections with confidence
- Assist customers with loading their purchases into their vehicle as needed
- Provide all customers with a friendly and positive shopping experience.
- Ensure an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a clean, safe store through merchandising, tidying and dusting as required along with replacing and facing stock on a constant basis
- Operate point of sales cash registers.

**Products - Paint**
- Tint paint, take orders and process sales consistently and accurately
- Present and demonstrate the product highlighting its positive features and suggest complementary products;
- Support the marketing of products in its department such as: display of merchandise, visual presentation and labelling;
- Lift paint cans and five-gallon pales constantly and unload skids of paint daily. Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
- Assisting with putting away large paint orders and sundries.
- This position will also stock shelves and set up displays, clean store equipment, and load and unload trucks.

**Products - Blinds**
- In-store consultations with clients, demonstrating product options and operation
- Explaining the differences between products, color options, control options, and brands

**Other**
- Support management with opening and closing duties as assigned
- Comply with policies and procedures regarding loss prevention, breakage of goods and health and safety;
- Other duties as assigned
- Keep the store clean and organized at all times.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum 1-year experience in the paint industry
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship for employment visa status.
- High school diploma or comparable (e.g. GED).
- Must be willing to work flexible hours between Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm, Saturdays 9:00am-5:00pm, Sundays 9:00am-4:00pm. This position will require that you are available most weekends
- Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Must be able to tint paint, therefore, must be able to distinguish the difference between colours.
- Must have intermediate computer skills and a personable telephone manner

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 32 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Holidays
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- residential blinds: 1 year (preferred)
- retail paint: 2 years (required)
