**Position Overview**

The Logistics Specialist reports directly to the Logistics Manager and oversees the seamless operation of our logistics processes. This role includes coordinating, managing, and reporting the movement of goods, managing inventory, communicating with suppliers and customers, and ensuring products are delivered on time. Specifically, the Logistics Specialist will spend most of their time planning, coordinating, and executing shipments in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy. In addition, they will order the consumables necessary for packaging of the finished goods.
- Support the Sales department by providing accurate quotes and transit times.
- Coordinate with consignees to gather precise shipping information.
- Arrange pickups with warehouses and freight forwarders to ensure timely dispatch.
- Create detailed and accurate documentation, including Dangerous Goods (DG), Customs Import Permit List (CIPL), and any other required paperwork.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is attached to customer files for warehouse instructions, including DG, CIPL, Air Waybill (AWB), Certificate of Analysis (CoA), checklists, and photos of completed shipments.
- Notify clients upon shipment dispatch, monitor shipment progress, and obtain Proof of Delivery (POD).
- Collaborate with all departments to address and meet customer needs effectively.
- Complete daily reports, audit checklists, and maintain management tools within the logistics department.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with freight forwarders to enhance logistics operations.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and international shipping standards for compliance.
- Assist in negotiating freight rates to optimize costs and efficiency.
- Follow quality assurance procedures to maintain exacting standards.
- Observe and adhere to safety regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operating costs to drive performance improvements.
- Identify inefficiencies in the logistics process and contribute to the development of strategies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for continuous improvement.
- Participate in managing daily inventory transactions to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Administer Chem Inventory by creating locations, new user accounts, and overall system management.
- Oversee offsite warehouse finished goods (FG) inventory, assisting with balancing stock across all warehouses.
- Manage the replenishment of consumables for the warehouse and production, including ad hoc items for Health & Safety (H&S).
- Order, create, and track Purchase Orders (POs) for consumables to maintain adequate stock levels.
