Material Service Team Leader

**Position Title**:Material Service Team Leader

**Reports To**:Material Service Assistant Manager

**Position Summary**:
Coordinate the activities of associates on shift. Ensure shipments are prepared, audited and shipped according to customer delivery requirements.

**Essential Functions**:

- Coordinate activities of associates on a daily basis.
- Administer Associates counselling and disciplinary action when required.
- Ensure delivery requirements for outgoing shipments are met.
- Ensure truck delivery schedules, arrival, departures are met.
- Ensure pick lists to master packing lists and shipments are accurate with EDI transmissions.
- Ensure customer expedites and EPO’s are handled on time and efficiently.
- Ensure 862, 850 EDI transmission are imported as required.
- Ensure Small Lots are accurate, separated, sequenced to HCM requirements.
- Send ASN’s at departure time for HCM accurate traceability.
- Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory for returnable containers and packaging.
- Ensure Trailwood drivers abide to daily requests.
- Coordinate sorts of finish goods and other Quality requests when necessary.
- Ensure all Material Service procedures are followed daily.
- Understand Department Goals/Targets and help support as needed.
- Ensure dunnage is stripped of all labels and placards, stacked and stored properly
- Inform Production Scheduler of any inventory discrepancies which affect production scheduling
- Responsible for cleanliness of warehouse and MS work areas.
- Responsible for reporting all incidents and accidents to MS Assistant Manager immediately.
- Report results, issues and achievements on a daily basis.
- Review, maintain and follow up on reports as required

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- May receive and follow-up on customer inquiries and requests regarding orders and shipments.
- May conduct periodic inventory counts
- May perform duties of other associates in the department in their absence
- Other duties as may be required
- Attend company provided seminars/training sessions, meetings and complete necessary assignments

**Work Environmental/Health & Safety**:

- Report to his/her Manager any contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he/she knows

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in similar position
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good leadership and decision making skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Must have tow motor experience and certificate
- Satisfactory work records, including attendance
- Ability to work overtime when necessary
