**Job summary**:
The Material Handler plays a critical role in the efficient and organized movement of materials within a warehouse or production facility. This position involves safely handling, transporting, and storing materials, ensuring accurate inventory records and supporting the overall logistics and supply chain operations.

**As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Material Movement**: Safely and efficiently transport materials within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- **Loading and Unloading**: Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- **Inventory Management**: Maintain accurate inventory records through proper documentation and tracking systems.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect materials for damage or defects, report discrepancies, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- **Order Picking and Packing**: Fulfill orders by picking and packing materials according to customer requirements.
- **Storage and Organization**: Properly store materials in designated areas, optimizing space and ensuring easy retrieval.
- **Equipment Operation**: Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner, conducting routine inspections and reporting any issues.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- **Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with team members, production staff, and other departments to meet production and shipping deadlines.
- **Documentation**: Complete required paperwork, including shipping/receiving documents, and update computerized inventory systems.

**Accountabilities**:

- **Material Handling Efficiency**: Accountable for efficiently and accurately handling materials to support production and shipping operations.
- **Inventory Accuracy**: Accountable for maintaining accurate inventory records and minimizing discrepancies.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- **Material Handling Equipment**: Proficient in the operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- **Safety Procedures**: Knowledge of safety protocols and practices related to material handling.
- **Organizational Skills**: Strong organizational skills to manage and maintain an orderly warehouse or production area.
- **Attention to Detail**: Keen attention to detail to identify and report discrepancies in materials.
- **Teamwork**: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.

**Education & Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is preferred.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
- Knowledge of warehouse and inventory control procedures.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- **This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.**
