**Overview**
The Developmental Service Worker plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who is committed to fostering independence and promoting social inclusion for those they serve. The Developmental Service Worker will work closely with clients to provide assistance in daily living activities, facilitate community engagement, and implement individualized support plans.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Support clients in developing life skills, including communication, social interaction, and decision-making.
- Implement individualized support plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
- Facilitate community outings and recreational activities to promote social engagement and inclusion.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records of services provided.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to developmental services.
**Experience**
- Previous experience in a caregiving or support role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with developmental disabilities and related challenges is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities are essential qualities for this role.
