Sensity has an exciting opportunity for Full and Part Time Intervenors to join our team in Sudbury, ON. The Intervenor supports communication and day-to-day living for individuals who are living with dual sensory impairment so that they may live independently. **Shifts Available**:
- Full Time 36-40hrs week. Shifts include: days, afternoons, evenings, overnights and weekends on a rotational schedule (**1 position**).
- Part Time 20-24hrs week. Shifts include: days, afternoons, evenings, overnights and weekends on a rotational schedule (**3 positions**).

**Key Activities**:
The Intervenor supports communication and day-to-day living for individuals who are living with dual sensory impairment so that they may live independently. Join us to learn new skills and experience personal growth and fulfillment.
- Supporting the individuals supported in their home and community environments.
- Using communication techniques to relay information.
- Empowering the individual to participate and be successful in all aspects of daily living including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, volunteerism, among others.
- Providing personal care as required (e.g. lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, medication administration, etc.).
- Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
- Assisting with program development.
- Ensuring documentation and records are complete.
- **This position requires a valid driver's license Class G, access to a reliable vehicle, a clean current driver's abstract and the ability to obtain automobile insurance with a minimum liability of $2 million.**
**Sensity Training**:
- **We will train you how to support our clients through our in-house training program.**
**Qualifications**
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or: Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Social Services Worker (SSW), Community Services Worker (CSW), Behaviour Support Worker (BSW), Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or a related human services field.
- 1 Year relevant experience working within social services or human services is beneficial.
- Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours.
- Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
- Experience providing personal support activities including full personal care support, assisting with personal care support, lifting and transferring, assisting with health/medical routines, using assistive devices and lifting systems, etc.
- We are actively seeking individuals who have the ability to learn and understand different communication methods and learning styles in order to communicate the world around to the individual with a person-centered approach.
- Good organizational skills and critical thinking abilities are essential in this role.
- Strong problem solving skills an asset.
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Adaptable and flexible with regards to the changing priorities of the individuals supported.
- Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE) is an asset.
**Training**:
- **We will train you how to support our clients through our in-house training program.**
**Other**:
- Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- This position requires repetitive hand motion and good manual dexterity and moderate stooping, bending and lifting. The incumbent must be able to lift 35 lbs to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. The position will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
- French (written and verbal) is an asset but not required.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written of the English language.
